Because Loki is the god of mischief and has done some things that he probably shouldn't have the modern day media seems to turn him into an evil character, just like what happend with the Thor comics. Another good example with them taking a god and turning him evil is with Hades, who in mythology didn't really do anything evil, but today's popular culture turns into a bad guy because he was the Greek god of the Underworld. An example of that is in Disney's Hercules movie or more recently the Clash of the Titans remake. Try to think of another example where either Loki, Hades, or some other god from mythology has had their reputation tarnished by modern day media.

i think Ares might come under this in the god of war game he was the main villain as the other Greek gods though he was getting a little too big for his boots, but as everybody knows he is the god of war surely its in his nature to be like that.
another example of it was in the percy jackson book in the first one he was the main villain in that but again he is the god of war that again is his nature

That is another good example of a god being turned into a villain even though he isn't really all that evil, Ares is just the way he is because it is the nature of war. They are going to make a sequal to the remake of Clash of the Titans and in it Hades and Ares team up to try to overthrow Zeus, I know this is a very stupid plot.

yeah that is a stupid plot if they're gonna use somebody why not Hermes, he is a trickster god and the god of travelers and thieves why not use him it would make a more interesting plot

That would be more interesting, but I don't think that the creators of this movie thought about this because the remake of Clash of the Titans made a lot of changes to the story of Perseus. First of all they had the mother of Perseus die and have him being raised as a fisher when in the myth Perseus was raised by his mother and was raised as a prince. Hades also had nothing to do with what happend to Perseus but they made Hades the main vilian of the Clash of the Titans remake. Also instead of marrying the beautiful Princess Andromeda, the remake of Clash of the Titans ended up having Perseus choosing Io a woman that had nothing to do with the story of Perseus. Also while trying to get the head of Medusa, Io dies and at the end of the movie Zeus brings her back for Perseus, last time I checked I thought that only Hades could bring someone back to life in Greek mythology.

yeah Hades is the only one who can bring the dead back to life, with him being god of the dead he is really the only one who can do that, i don't think any other gods can interfere with that

That is exactly what I thought.
